I am part of the old B.H. shark crew but have been out of the picture for nearly 22 years. In the process of trying to re-accquant myself with the art of Shark Fishing. Got spoiled over here in Louisiana fighting the giant crawfish...ok, spoiled eating the little suckers!

So here are my help needed questions:
1. Any reason not to buy a Penn Sen. with stainless steel interior?
2. With a 9/0 or 6/0 fishing from the beach what size pole is needed?
3. What is the most optimum line configuration, i.e. #test line, the last 50 feeet for over sand bar and so forth?

I use the Pen Sen's myself. No problems. Very reliable reels. I have my 9/0 on an 80lb class 7' rod. My 6/0 is on a 2pc 10' 50 or 60lb class rod. You may want to check out www.extremecoast.com . They can help you out even more. I usually have a 10-15' mono leader tied straight to mainline. Some people will put a 100' (or so) topshot of 100lb line for the bars. Hope this helps.
