| I am thinking about getting a 4/0 penn magged for a long casting pole I have, is that a good idea or is a 4/0 too big? |

Lots of sharkers use them. Most find the Diawa SL40 or Penn GS555 better casters. _________________ Ahh sand between my toes! |

Depends on what you are after.
You after sharks then you are sitting pretty good.
Although, you might want to take a look into the Penn GS series reels. They are fine casting reels and can be found relatively cheap on ebay.
If you want a good reel for Redfish and Drum from the beach. I would get a 535 GS reel. You can also land sharks up to 6 feet on this reel. It casts smooth easy to control and its not too heavy.
Then when you mag it, backlashing is a story of the past. _________________ -Skip |
