Most of the time I go to the surf I'll do both, find a good spot but out a long rod and do some short rod work up and down from the long rod. If nothing happens in an hour or so i'll move. Hopefully I'll get going on one or the other and go to work on that. But I don't care for those I see driving up and down the beach every 30 min. stop right next to you cast for 5 min then start driving again. If thats all they want to do then go to boat and net and get them with fries and stop smelling up the beach with wasted fuel. But thats just my opinion and you know what they say about those

Tyler had a good point. If you don't have a long rod your not catching pompano!! If you've eatting pompano you know what I'm talking about.
I was catching one last tues. every 20 min. 9 altogether what fun . All on
fish bites. Thanx Dr. C. My question is . Do I have a long enough rod?

. I can barely manage my 12 footer!!! How is the breakaway mando? I am pleased with my tica for now, seems to do good but I dont have expeience with others so I dont really know for sure.
