Also recipes?

Where are you fishing for them?? If from a pier then use a large pyramid sinker and a 3-way swivel. Tie a short mono leader (50 lb. or greater) to the sinker, then tie a longer leader to a large (6/0 or larger) circle hook. Use either sea lice or dead crab whole for bait. Hope this helps. Indian Point Pier is a hot spot this time of year for drum fishing this time of year. As far as recipes go, try blackened drum or beer battered drum also known as drum sticks. Good Luck, SM _________________ That's why they call it fishin', not catchin' |

No matter how cook them you can't go wrong.
I like them baked.
fish filets
Evolive oil
Any seasoning (salt and peper, basil, oregano, cajun ect.)
1 box salad croutons
Parmesian Cheese
On a metal cooking tray cover the bottom with EV olive oil. Season the filets and place on the metal tray sides touching. Crush the croutons with a rolling pin and cover the filets. Shake parmesian cheese on top
Bake at 350 for 18-20 minutes _________________ John 14:1-3 |

Thank you very much. Was actually thinking the surf? or wading somewhere in the bay? (Not much on pier fishing)
You mentioned Indian Point pier. Is the northend of the bay the best area?
Thanks again for your response(s).

Ditto what he said. However, the drum off IPP this time of the year are oversized and must be released. If you are gonna fish for keepers, I would use fresh dead shrimp and fishbites with a thin wire circle hook between a 2/0 and 5/0. Personally, I think the surf would be a better choice for keeper drum or perhaps one of the jetties. I am not sure if they are still getting keepers near the turn arounds under the JFK bridge, but that is usually a hot spot. _________________ FISH ON!!,

When driving the causeway from Flour Bluff to the ISland, you can exit the causeway at the base of the bridge and take the road underneath it to turnaround and had back to Flour Bluff. On either side of the causeway, there is a channel. Most fish the north side of the causeway as the channel is bigger and closer to the ICW. _________________ FISH ON!!,
