Guys, I'm thinking of hitting PINS here in the near future and I wanted some thoughts of when is the best time to catch a mix bag of fish surf fishing? Thanks

Flakman is right when the finger mullet are in everything is in play from Jacks to Sharks to Tarpon. That event usually begins in September/Ocotber sometimes earlier if a tropical system hits in late summer and fills the bays up with high water.
Here is an example of the food chain from late August of last year from Captain Billy Sandifer of www.billysandifer.com

"This was the Shark that ate the Jack that ate the topwater"etc. etc.

So I guess it gets good starting in Sept.. Any specific baits or lures that the fish like more than the other or just something that resembles the finger mullet? Does this action happen along the whole Gulf Coast or just in the lower part? Thanks for the great info. guys.

Sweet pictures. So the moral is to have a double drop rig with the bottom hook unbaited and ready to catch whatever hits the baited hook on the first drop hook? Confused LOL! Laughing
