Went out again yesterday and only managed 7 trout this time (17, 19, 19, 20, 20, 21, 23). Again, it was all on croaker and all in the wade gut. There was a lot more weed where we were than on Tuesday. On a different note, I reeled in one of my trout and a HUGE and I mean HUGE trout followed it all the way to me. I have never seen a trout that big in person. Too bad he didn't get to the bait first. Also, my buddy reeled in the first fish of the day only to lose it on the beach in about 3" of water. It was a really big trout, bigger than the 23 incher that I caught. When he tried to beach it it spit the hook and you should have seen us diving in the water trying to hand grab him or hug him. I wish someone would have had a camera on us. Needless to say, my buddy was a little upset. Oh well, we still got some good fish to fry.

Hey Jason
How far South of BHP have you been going.I was about half mile South
the other day and managed 1 trout and several rat reds on fishbites and shrimp. No takers on any lures. Moved over by Packery about 3:00 and nothing but whiting.

| We go all the way down to what some people call the "North Sticks". At least that is what we call it. It's about 8 or so miles down from BHP. Turn left on the road right before the ranger station. I usually go to PINS but lately when I get off of work I don't want to drive all the way down there. It's quicker for me to go there during the week. Although I did talk to a guy at Clem's that has been doing good down there too. Big trout and reds. He has been using croaker as well too. He told me that they were running out of bait it was so good. |
