My very first post after lurking for years,,,,My thanks to all the folks who share the knowledge so openly. Living in Dallas makes my trips down there limited to four or five times a year....last trip was in November and brought back lots of Pompano...at the family fish fry, my three year old grandson was asked if he wanted a second helping of fish...he answered"NO I want more Pompano". First three sylable word he has used.....The boy has a great future
Now to my question...I am bringing a friend down with me who needs internet capability (Playing hookey from work) (WIFI OK)Used BHP in the past. Will be staying at the County RV Park next to BHP,,,,Any ideas on a close place for Internet access? |

Pretty sure the coffee shops and several other restaurants on the island have free wi fi, and I've found open signals around my house on the canals.
If he doesn't need 24/7 access, that should do the trick. If he does, he may want to look into a 3G card. I have one (plugs into the USB port on my laptop) and I get a great connection on the island as 3G service is strong.
Good luck! _________________ Jeff

Theres a coffee shop in the new shopping center on the island (on the left when you cross over the bridge, where Tsunami Bar & Grill is). I think its called Grounds or something. Anyways, good deli sammiches and they have free wifi.
I think maybe the new burger joint has it too. Which, btw, makes awesome burgers. Not sure if the Office Bar has it but I have seen folks using laptops there. Good luck finding a place to sit during peak hours as the place is hopping.
There are some free signals floating in the canals, but I could never get one when I needed it.
