Headed out early this morning 4 a.m. to play with a new toy for my kayak. I finally picked up a drift sock. Had a blast catching small specks as I "drifted" From Humble channel to Demit pier in about 10 minutes. Oddly enough the 30 mph wind still moved me along fairly quickly. Then I would paddle back into the wind for 30 minutes and do it all over again. When it started to rain went and parked under the causeway and then headed out again. ended the day with 1 decent sand trout and 3 of those lunker piggy perchs. Now that spring is almost here I think I have finally figured out winter fishing and can sum it up like this keep moving and go slow. Now if I could only get a break from the wind when I am off work.

| Those are some Lunker Piggies. I kept one about that size that my nephew caught and cooked it up for him. It was okay but a bit on the fishy side. How were those? |
