Anybody been down the beach lately? Me and Fishnfreak are going to try and fish our way down to the Jetty's this Saturday afternoon and was wondering what we were in for. I've been looking at the weather and tide reports but they look a little sketchy for this weekend. Anybody got any input?

WENT OUT TODAY, 3/15/06 THE WATER HAD A NICE COLOR, IT WAS GREEN LOTS OF WAVES PAST THE HIGH WAY.MAIN PROBLEM WAS THE WEED, FISHED FOR A WHILE ABOUT HOUR AND AHALF. CAUGHT SOME SMALL WHITING ON SHRIMP. AND ON ONE REEL I USED A NEW PENNY GULP, FOUR OR FIVE INCHES LONG THAT GOT BIT BELOW THE HOOK.
PACKED IT UP AND WENT BEHIND MUSTANG ISLAND TO FISH THE FLATS. MANAGED ONE RED ON A GOLD SPOON THATS TWICE I'VE USED A GOLD SPOON AND IT SEEM TO MAKE A BELIEVER OUT OF ME. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR TRIP YOU NEVER KNOW ABOUT THE WEED YOU MIGHT FIND A SPOT FREE AREA. Cool

I will be leaving tomorrow, staying through Sunday.
Look for a maroon ford and let us know what you find

I went past the 20mm today 3/15 and never got out of the weed. Water was clearing and warming. Lost a few shrimp.... when I slung them off. There was a lot of bait in the surf. Got somewhat skunked. I guess the weed is here to stay.

I hate weed. Not looking good for this weekend. Gonna give it a go anyway. Better than working right?
