After fishing w/ my newly delivered Rainshadow rod built by Tarpon_Tamer (South Bay Custom Rods) yesterday I was somewhat convinced that it had a little bit of Mojo built in. Today convinced me that there may be a bit o' Mojo in that sweet tiger wrapped new addition. Coupled w/ a Calcutta 100, this rod throws Skitterwalks to the moon! Better yet, a few fishies chased them. Ok enough of the marketing ploy!

CC Red and I launched somewhere early this AM, and paddled out until we found the bait, and turned it sideways for a long morning drift w/ a light SE breeze. Both reds and trout were in the mood, blowing up on the big noisy topwater pretty regular. Though a good number of the reds were 18-19", we still managed to string two a piece. I should have had three but as I got within range to grab my first red of the day on a never been used pink skitterwalk I watched my normally bomb-proof loop knot come un-tied Mad Off the red slowly cruised w/ that lure in his jaw...if you catch one w/ a pink skitterwalk...it's mine Shocked

Steve managed a 24 and a 20" trout as well as a three more trout to go with his two reds. I struggled and got three 16, 17 and 18" to go w/ my reds. We both had a ton of opportunities and exciting blowups...man do I love tops!!!

Enjoy the pics-
