Rob just called and said some tug or pilot boat was trying to pull it free with no luck.
He says it is right about where the other shrimp boat wreck is. It is not visible now since the outriggers rusted away.

Here's the latest on the ongoing struggle with Grandma. Rob says they weren't getting anywhere so he went back to the house to get Buddy the beagle and some adult beverages to consume while watching the drama play out.

I don't know what happened. They looked a little pissed I was snapping pics yesterday so I didn't ask. I did hear it has been there since at least Sunday. Will try & find out exactly what happened in a few minutes if they are still there. Waiting on the whole gang to come back to the house now, they want to go see.

That tug wasn't making any progress but the shrimpers engines were running. My guess is they had engine failure & didn't get it fixed until today, don't know. Looks like they need at least a couple more tug boats to me.

Perfect time for the guys on the tug to say.... "We need a bigger boat!"

man, that tug is AWFULLY close to the beach too. wondering if there's enough water there? those things usually draft somewhere around six feet. may lose two vessels!

either way, tell your buddy Rob to mark that spot on the beach, there should be a nice hole there when those diesels crank up.

I wonder how much a fully equipped shrimp boat weighs? Its got to be really heavy, and that should make it plenty hard to move anywhere. That tug can't be in anymore than 3 or 4 feet of water, can it? Its so close to shore and in what is a shallow gut.

The latest on poor ole Grandma is she hasn't moved an inch. She is forming one hell of a good trout hole slowly but surely.

As far as shrimpers go she is a really nice boat, feel very bad for the guys. I didn't find out any more information. Hate to bother someone in the middle of something like that. I know I wouldn't want people asking me how things got screwed up that badly. Will probably take them some beer tomorrow if they are still there & will get all the info.

We left at 3:30. Pretty sure the tug was stuck too, need some high tide for those guys but the surf is going flat, not good for them. They need at the very least 3 more tugs it seems to me but I don't know jack about pullin out grounded grandmas. Hope they have some luck soon.
