Got the call from my good friend Mike Hart that he needed a fishing partner to help find some trout for an upcoming trip. Dropped everything I was doing, threw some rods in the back of the truck and met him at Clems in record time. Coming from Rockport, went across the ferry which wasn't too bad but on the way home cars were already lined up about 3 miles deep waiting on the ferry to get to the island - be prepared to wait if you plan on using the ferry this weekend.
Took one of my fishing buddies - 11 y/old daughter who has been throwing a spinning rod since she was 3. It was a late start, we were at the first spot around 10am and caught a few decent trout but they were scattered so we tried spot #2. Right off the bat Mike gets about a 25 incher and we thought we hit the jackpot. But we only caught a few more but my daughter caught a 19" red at that spot.
Hit the final spot and it started off slow but 15 mins later we were catching trout on every cast and we pulled in about 5 that went over 25" but nothing STAR worthy(no complaints here). I also caught a nice flounder at the end to top it all off.
I took two quick photos but with a camera phone so I'll have to figure that out later and hopefully post them. We kept 15 trout and the 1 flounder for a big family fish fry today and must have thrown back 40 or more - of which maybe 7-8 were undersized.
GPS coordinates to follow - I'm just kidding, I couldn't tell you where we were excactly other than a few miles south of the causeway. Oh, and we chunked live bait and arties - Gulp and devil eyes.
Thanks again for the invite Mike - my daughter is bragging to everyone(little brother included) that was her best trip ever and she keeps asking me why is it when we go fishing her wrists aren't sore like they are now after fishing with Mike _________________

| nice pic, tell your daughter to look close and she has a pelican standing on her bow in her hair, she'll probably get a kick out of that. |
