Well, I took the wife and kids down to about 22 on Saturday. A buddy and his kids followed along. Driving was a breeze until the tail end of little shell-- it wasn't so much soft sand as it was the freakin humps. I swear I went airborn two or three times going 25-30.

We had poles in the water by 9:00 a.m., fished on and off until around 3:00 and left with two VERY nice sized pomps from the second gut. I've never seen so many skip jack...

In any case, the water was ridiculously clear. But the weed was epic. We found a little finger that gave us some relief. Had no trouble with the long rods, but there was no throwing up close.

All in all a great day on the beach with the wife and kids. I'll never forget my four year-old daughter sitting in her chair under the umbrella right at the edge of the surf, staring at the waves with the biggest smile on her face...for almost 45 minutes...without moving an inch. And to top it off, I got a picture of it. Was too good.

Can't wait to make it back down there.

It was worth the trip just for that experience. We also had fun watching the Riddley's swimming South. The water was so clear you could see them (them!) on the second bar. Big girls.
