Fished the ICW in Aransas Pass last night for several hours, came up with more hardheads than we cared to count a few spec's. After the lights came on the trout were plentiful just wouldn't bite. We tried poppin cork, live shrimp, a couple of flavors of fishbite nothing. Any suggestions?

What was swimming in the lights with the trout? Sometimes trout under the lights focus on glass minnow or a certian color of shrimp (whatever is passing through). You have to match those bait characteristics (size & color) pretty close if the bait is plentiful. If they ignored the live shrimp they are off the feed bag and need something to aggrivate them into striking. I like to use small top waters and floater/divers. Sometimes though its just better hit the sack at try in the morning.

In those conditions I have had luck with small soft plastics fished on a bare hook and worked back long the edge of the lights. Usually you will only get the small ones to bite and they get smart real quick. You do have to try and match the size of the bait they are eating. Sometimes the bait is just to small and plentiful to do any good. It can be real frustrating.
