Two reds behind Mustang Island Saturday – 20” and 22”. There was too much wind on the flats, so I opted to stalk the back lakes. I would have limited but had a clean break off on some oysters. Of course, that fish was much bigger! All were caught by sight casting Gulp shrimp in about 8” to 12” of water. I also fished the afternoon, and came back in the dark – which turned out to be unfortunate.
I found my truck window busted – and a tool box containing a code scanner missing. The only other person out there witnessed two guys on a motorcycle cruzing the dirt road. These punks may lurk these boards waiting for fishermen to report the break-ins for bragging rights. So, I got to hand it to them for pulling this stuff off in the CHG State of Texas…kind of reminds me of Russian Roulette. |

Instead of a wiffle ball bat how about 4 feet of 5/8" garden hose filled with lead bird shot.
It works well.... |

| IMS, I got a better idea. Last summer I got a hardhead fin under my fingernail. (still hasn't healed) Never felt such pain in all my life. Hurt like H---l for better then an hour. NOTHING would stop it. I am talking about under the nail at the top of finger. Look down at your hand and then look where the nail goes under the skin. That's where it hit me. Now that would work but on all fingers and toes. Bet they wouldn't even think about doing anything like that again. Of couse there is the Castle Law now. |

| Where were you parked. Not after your spot but anyone in that area can keep their eyes open and maybe spot who it was. |

| my mom's car was also broken into at the nature park over at ennis joslin and nile road. the police officer who came out said that break ins at that park occur about 10 times a week.....amazing. anyhow, there was an older lady who normally walks her dog along the sidewalk and therefore is familiar with the break ins and she said she noticed a young man on a motorcycle next to the car and he was on a cell phone and she noticed he looked suspicious. she said she kept walking to not look too obvious but turned around after few feet and noticed that there was a jeep wrangler pulling in and as she walked by the second time the guy on the bike and the jeep were talking. she said she didnt want to keep walking back and forth so she just kinda hung around the area for a few minutes but that both the bike and jeep took off. when my mom got back from taking my kids for a walk the car had been broken into along with 2 other cars in the park. Point of the story....there is obviously someone on a motorcycle who is in the vicinity at the time of the break ins....keep an open eye. |

Ha! I just changed my avatar to the "come and take it" flag...I guess they came and took it.
Thanks for the sympathy, guys.
Jerry B - I was at Wilson's Cut, next to the second gate.
007texas - I count the guys on the motorcycle as suspicious on that backroad. If you see a LP# sometime - post up.
Bluffer - CHG = concealed handgun. I'm not making a threat - just stating an obvious fact. Nothing in anyone's truck is worth risking your life over. Yak Tip: Don't forget to pack it in a baggie - saltwater is cruel, even on stainless. |
