Allright , took off to Matty on fri morning to scope out some drive up / kayak spots and get the boat ready for the weekend , found some pretty decent spots on the east end of Tres Palacios that I will fish in spring time (day one-no fish)

Saturday , waded south shore / 3-mile area for 3 hours with zero action decided to drink beer and drift the south pocket of east bay , that was the right decision , caught tons of lower slot reds , caught a nice fat 20" speck , tons of dink specks , and lost a huge speck at the boat that was in the high 20"s , also caught some nice fat sandies and got into some 2-3lb croaker (aint seen that in awhile) . All fish were caught on 3" new penny gulps and the 4" pogy in smelt , 1 fish was caught on live shrimp so I would have to say GULP is pretty amazing .

Sunday , same thing less fish , caught a few small Flounder around the Old Gulf Cut .

Monday , same thing even less action.

Tuesday , Drifted the Boiler and Kain cove area , got into some small specks on GULP then I wanted to scope out some mid bay pilings for some sheepshead , got one , the weather started to get bad pretty fast so I called it a trip and headed home.

All in all I had a good weekend , the weather was fantastic and the beer was cold (alot of it) , enjoy the pics , hope to have another report for yall after this weekend ...

welcome home. the fish haven't been told you're home yet, so they are biting as usual. how long sought we wait to tell them you're back?

Thanks for the cool report. Sounds secluded over there. Gonna have to drag the boat down and check it out myself some week, maybe longer.

Nice catch. My parents live in Matty. Mostly fished east bay. There is some big fish there. Looks like a good time had by all.D.
