| Yesterday we gave it a go in the Port's hole they opened up to the public from 6am - 10pm daily. Although we didn't catch anything, it was a fairly peaceful place to fish and I'll probably be back. FYI, take the Fulton Corridor off 181, just over the Harbor Bridge. About 6 miles down, just past the viola turnaround where the Corridor comes really close to the Nueces river you'll see the spot where a long dirt road starts, and a sign with all the rules. I think you can also take Carbon Plant road off I-37 to get to the Fulton corridor. |

Do the rules say anything about boat or kayak launching? Talk about quick access to the back of Nueces.
Yes, you can access the corridor by taking Carbon Plant. Once you exit Carbon Plant you are on the Corridor and have to actually make a left onto Carbon Plant about 1/2 or 3/4 mile down. |

I dont know how far you like to kayak, but its about 2-3 miles to the bay from there, maybe a little less, i dont think it will be long before they close that area due to the people trashing the place up! Good luck! _________________

There is a place you can launch a boat or kayaks. Just past the pipeline with the fence around it. It has a big wooden plank pad. I have seen people launch there and I saw two guys kayak into the back lakes a little further down.
I have been fishing there lately and have caught Drum, Reds and Blue cats. The catfish were very tasty.
The good part is that you can fish there even when the wind is blowing 30mph...Adios
