I caught a few of these on peeled shrimp in the surf. They make great cut bait for redfish. Very Happy

Those are what I call dunnos...cuz I dunno what they're called. Laughing I catch them in my cast net quite a bit this time of year. They make great bait. That's one of the largest I've seen.

When I was a kid (about 14-15), I caught about 25 of those and took them home. I filleted them leaving the rib bones in. I had my mom deep fry them til they were crunchy and they were delicious!! The bones were so small that they fell apart when I ate them. I probably wouldn't do that again but I still remember feeling like the big bad fisherman (one of the reason I am still hooked on fishing). By the way, I still don't know what they are called Laughing .

I have no idea, but I caught a few of those some years back in the 3 inch long range and they had long clear whiskers on the smaller ones. I put them in my aquarium but they all died within a few days.

We've called it a whisker minnow since the mid 70's. Always been a great big trout bait alive. Seen them get up to 10" long.

Guys, that's a goatfish. They have barbels under the chin that fold back and don't show in the picture. I used to catch them a lot at BHP.
