More LTTEs with the same general unease about local governance might have been included, but, since they don't clearly target the beach blockage, aren't presented. Haven't heard any good answers to the questions posed today. And what about the flip sides of the situations Terry and Thomas discuss? What if you or your family are injured and need transport off the beach ASAP? What if by crowding an increasing number of vehicles into a shrinking span of beaches we finally succeed in hitting a pedestrian? Who shall we blame - the City Council for creating the dangerous situations or ourselves for not countering their decision at the polls?

Who is going to protect your parked car when you are 500 yards away on the beach? At least if it is parked right beside you, you can watch over it.

Terry Nutt

What accidents?

The reason being offered for beach closure on Padre Island is protection from traffic, i.e., to protect us from being injured by motor vehicles.

Spring Break recently concluded, with its thousands of attendees. This resulted in the expected alcohol consumption, traffic tickets, violence, etc.

Did I miss all the reports of traffic-related injuries? What are we being protected from? Can anyone tell us the history of traffic-related injuries we are being protected from?
