| Thanks, we used the lanterns for years but thought I would try the underwater lights this year as I have never used one. Do the underwater lights make a big difference? |

They make a difference in that you can rest light on bottom for whatever reason, and they are not as heavy as the lantern.
They can from time to time cut down glare due to ripples on the water. |

make mine out of a funnel (large sewing bobbin) pvc and a car headlight, seal it good and run it off a little lawn tractor battery, you will never use a lantern again  |

There were post on using LED's. I think the green would be the best. Here is a link and they have a calculator for the resistor/bulbs/volt draw.

I remember seeing one built out of 1/2 in. pvc. It had a light bar on the bottom that was 15 in. long so the guy could make sure the fish is legal. I think he used 10 bulbs. D. |
