I keep seeing people mention Nine Mile Hole. Where is it, inshore or offshore; how hard is it to get to; it is good fishing?

Thanks,

Ray

I'm just getting familiar with the area and go to Aransas Pass, so I also have no idea where the Land Cut is either. I still would appreciate more information, please. I know Brown and Root, Lighthouse Lakes, some of the area around Rockport, the road to Corpus through Port Aransas, Roy's, Jerry B's and Breakaway, and that's about it.

COMING FROM SAN ANTONIO YOU WOULD GO 37 SOUTH INTO CORPUS AND TURN RIGHT ON S.P.I.D. STAY ON SP.I.D APPROX 28 MILES YOU WILL ENTER PADRE ISLAND NATIONAL SEASHORE (P.I.N.S.) YO UWILL HAVE TO PAY AT THE ENTRANCE I BELIEVE IT IS 15 DOLLARS TOTAL . AFTER YO UGO THRU THE ENTRANCE WERE YOU PAY APPROX 1/2 MILE THERE IS A ROAD TO THE RIGHT CALLED BIRD ISLAND BASIN. TAKE RIGHT AND GO APPROX 1 MILE AND A NEW PAVED ROAD CUTS OF TO THE RIGHT AND GOES TO THE BOATLAUNCH. AFTER LAUNCHING GO APPROX 1 MILE BY WATER FOLLOWING THE MAKERS TO THE INTERCOASTAL WATERWAY AND TAKE A LEFT INTO THE INTERCOASTAL. GO APPROX 29.2 MILES AND YOU WILL BE AT THE MOUTH OF THE CHANNEL CALLED THE NINE MILE CUT. TAKE A LEFT INTO THE CHANNEL AND APPROX 1 1/2 MILES YOU WILL BE IN THE HOLE. YOU WILL KNOW IT BECAUSE THERE WILL BE A WW II AIRPLANE TAIL TO YOUR RIGHT. YOU CAN BUY A MAP AT ACADEMY OF BAFFIN BAY AND THE LAGUNA MADRE AND IT WILL GIVE YOU A IDEA OF WERE IT IS. STRAIGHT LINES TO YA.

You better have a shalow running boat if you are goign to go of into the flats.

That area produces good red fish.

I've got kayaks. I'm also thinking about going out with Capt. Cliff Webb. I read Gulf Coast Connections this month and his interview. It looks like that area is where he specializes.
