Fished the jetty today ,bringing in a huge 7" sand trout, 8" sand trout
and a 9" perch. Don't laugh i had a good time. I left the jetty and stopped at the circle K for some of those aweful smokes, there was two guys from san antonio with a 37" red .
I asked them where did you hook up with this, he said at the jetties.
Just south of the dumpster. I said i was just east of you.
I asked him if he had tagged the red, since it was oversized. He was not aware of this. Being the nice
guy that i am i helped him out in tagging his catch and furnished him with a trash bag and several left over bags of ice for transport back to S.A.
My fishing experience of the day was not let down, but by helping and teaching these fisherman the proper procedures was rewarding in itself.
Did not see much come off the jetty in the 6 hours i was there. When i was leaving the tide was headed out. And that is when the bite probably turned on. Just my luck. Fished with shrimp to catch the sand trout ,
used them for cut bait with no strikes. The guy's mentioned above had results from cut bait. Stopped by the port a seafood market and picked me up a few stuffed crabs for dinner and they sure are good. Oh and by the way it had to be a good day i did not loose any tackle. _________________ noketcham noeatem |

You have about the same luck I have fishing out there! Glad you helped those guys find their tags. That happens a lot more often than you think. At least they had licenses to begin with.
Thanks for the report.

Those sandtrout make great bait. If nothing hit them, there just wasn't anything there to catch.
Those 7 to 8 inches make good live bait too. Need a really heavy weight, but give them a 5 foot or so leader, and something big will come along and get them!
At least you can say you made a trip to the jetty and didn't lose any tackle! I sure can't say that! _________________ GOBZA!!!
