I have been to the Nueces river in George West four times now looking for White Bass. Not sure there is enough lake left for them to come up and spawn, but while paddling I found a couple of new-to-me gravel bars. I'm a sucker for petrified wood, and have brought home about 275lbs of the stuff during those four trips. On the last trip I expanded my search to include agates as a target item, so I brought home a few and began to cut and polish them. I drug out the wet tile saw and realized it cuts rock reasonably well, and to shine them up I ordered a set of grinding discs from Amazon. Not too bad for rocks that everyone passes up on the river!
