I went fishing over at the Rio Grande yesterday and as I was getting my stuff out of the truck I saw a fly fisherman come walking back his vehicle. I asked him how the fishing was and he said the rainbow bite was pretty good. We talked for a while and I mentioned that I was from Corpus and he had said that he recently bought a place over in Rockport as a second home. It turns out he is a fish guide from Taos and he's been doing that for 23 years. I said let's exchange numbers and when you're in Rockport sometime you can come over to Corpus and I'll take you out fishing and show you some of the ropes to the saltwater fish in the area. So he said here I've got a business card and you can text me back with your information and we can get together. I looked at his card and it said Ziafly as his business name. I started chuckling and said on a website back in Corpus, corpusfishing.com, I go by the name of Ziacatcher. He stops, turns his head, opens his eyes wide and says oh that's you. And then we had a big laugh and went on our ways. By the way, I caught a bunch of trout both rainbows and browns and they were all on a small side. I think they were just stocked and they were more aggressive than the bigger fish.
