The last week or so has been really tough fishing for me, my son and several of my fishing buddy neighbors. There was one day last week that all I caught was one 2-in perch. Yesterday however things look like they might be picking up slightly. Went out with my son, who's in visiting from Phoenix, and he caught a handful of undersized trout and I wound up with two 19-in trout. Those two are the only keepers that we had. Today I went out with both my sons and grandson. My grandson got in undersized red. My son's caught some undersized trout and a couple little bitty perch. The only trout that I caught was one that was almost by accident. I was reeling in my sand eel to get another cast into a sand pocket I was looking at but I was watching my son and grandson fish when my other son said hey there's a fish following your lure. I looked back and I saw it so I let my lure sink down towards the bottom and it hit it. I brought it in and it was a 24-in trout. But that was it for the day.

I want to give a shout out to Bayfly for his help today. After fishing, my son was changing my ceiling fan in my living room but we didn't have a ladder tall enough for my high ceiling. We were heading over to Home Depot to rent one when going past his house his wife was backing out oh their garage, we looked into his garage and we saw a big ladder. Went over and asked if we can borrow it and he was very generous and let us have it to do our repairs. Thanks a lot Bayfly. I appreciate it.

Fishing for the last week has been a struggle in my area too. With the windy conditions mornings are the option: Saturday I managed a pair of reds and a trout, and yesterday I got one red and one 19" trout, but that was it. I will be happy when the usual activity returns!
