Hit the water roughly 9:00 and there was absolutely no wind and the water was much lower than yesterday. Lot of areas that had grass sticking out today were completely submerged yesterday. With no winds I couldn't drift and considered heading home. I started heading that way and a little breeze kicked up so I figured okay I'll try it. And I'm glad I did. I found a little color change and once the water cleared in that area I started catching some fish. I wound up with a number of undersized trout and then 1 16, a 17, 2 18s and a 20-in trout. I also got this nice 27-in red. What was fun about it was how he hit my hook. When I cast my lures just before it hits the water I stopped the line with my finger and flip my bail over. This keeps my line taut and no bend in it while it's first on the water. On this cast I did the same thing and as soon as my z-man hits the water my reel starts screaming. Was able to slow it down and start bringing it in but as it got close to the boat it decided it didn't want any part of it and took off again. Did this probably three times before I finally got to to the boat and netted it. It was a blast. Then I decided to try a little closer to home and I'm glad I did because as I was going in the winds kicked up hard and started getting a little bit of a sprinkle. There were not White Caps on a water but actual waves. And with my neck in the brace that's not a good thing. As I got home the winds were still howling and then all of a sudden they shut down again. Turned out to be great day on the water. By the way, everything was catch and release.
