Went out in the area where I was catching those fish yesterday and when I got there they were four other boats in that spot. I found a spot where I can putter in and not be disturbing any of the other fishermen. Drifting and working the potholes I picked up about five or six undersized trout. At that point I noticed that all the other boats were leaving one at a time for points elsewhere. I was able to drift now by myself and wound up picking up three trout that were over 20. The biggest was 24 and a 28-in red. By the way I've been using z-man lures last couple days. Thought I'd give them a shot after reading profs post. They are so elastic that the 5 in you can stretch to over foot and it won't break. Plus no matter how slow you work them the tail action is great. And they're easier to use them my sand eels. With the sand eels I have to impart all the motion and everything myself whereas with the z-man all you do is cast and retrieve.

Here are the pictures of the big fish along with a picture that my son sent me of him just now catching a 24-in. I think his picture is pretty cool.

Nice Zia. I may have seen your boat when I was running leg 3 of Beach to Bay this morning.

When I was down here two weeks ago I caught one of your fat girls at 25” midday. Drifted through some fingerling mullet on a grass patch surrounded by sand with a paddle tail that looks like a yeah, a fingerling mullet. Babied her on the release and did not get a pic.

As an old, retired high mileage and marathon runner I can tell you the need to have the Beach to Bay Marathon a month or two earlier.
