It gave me a chance to paddle offshore, and fish were waiting for me right where I left them last year. Very Happy The clouds were still dropping funnels that looked a lot like little tornados, but none of the three I saw got close enough to hear, so I just kept an eye on them and fished. After landing a small king early, I paddled to a larger rig and quickly hooked a heavy fish. It took a while to catch a glimpse of it, but I was so happy to see a big cobia on the line. It took 40 minutes, but by 8:30 I had my prize aboard and got a call about some bees in a residence that needed to be removed. Oh well, even on my day off duty calls. I headed for shore and spent the afternoon helping my son remove an unhappy hive of bees. Working with my boy is always a good thing, so I'm not complaining, but I'm already looking forward to the next chance to paddle offshore.
