|

I know there are a bunch of old Blue Waves with center console tanks.
My 190 Classic is a 2002 model. A few weeks ago, when I put gas in it, I had a couple of cups of gas on the deck. Looked up in the center console, and could not see anything wrong. Washed the deck down and went fishing. No issues. Next time I put gas in, there was a couple of cups of gas on the deck. I finally got my big light and looked in center console and noticed some age cracks on the side of the fuel fill line for the tank. Ordered a replacement line and replaced it. No more leaks. Looking at the old line, it was full of age cracks. Hint for replacing the line. Loosen all 4 clamps and slide towards tank, remove fill fitting on side of console. Use pliers and reach through hole and grab end of line and pull. Push fill fitting in new hose and slide through hole in console and guide onto tank. be sure and put new clamps on new hose before inserting end on tank. Push on fill fitting to seat on tank. Worst part is twisting my old body up to reach in and tighten the clamps.
I was severely disappointed that the old line only lasted 22 years. |

I remember once on my Wellcraft 230cc I had about 2-3 gallons of gas flow out the drain when I unscrewed the plug. My first thought was a leaking fuel tank. It's a 125 gallon tank and when I removed the console it seemed fine so I got my compressor and rigged it to the tank to pressure it up. I put 10# of pressure on it and it held that for nearly an hour (I forgot about it ) so the next thing I did was change out all of the fuel lines including the filler hose line.
No more gas leaks. |
