Just read where the owners of Mimi's Kitchen out here in Flour Bluff bought the Lookout restaurant and it's going to be opening sometime in April and it will be Papa's Seafood and Steaks. Looking forward to it. |

Chad let me look over his menu, and it's similar to The Reef's menu, with some nice additions....it's going to be awesome again!

Over the last few weeks I have had some good experiences with the Bluff Marina and the future re-opening restaurant (under some bad circumstances on my part). My hydraulic steering on my boat crapped out, and I was able to limp it to the marina to pull it out of the water. When I went it to pay to remove the boat, they did not charge me. They said they would not charge for someone testing their boat, or if they were using the ramp due to issues with their boat.
Fast forward to a this past Saturday, and I launched the fixed boat, and I gladly paid the $20. I pulled my truck out and parked it in the almost full parking lot about 3 pm. I came back to retrieve my truck and trailer, started my truck and heard a screeching sound over the normal diesel clatter. I thought it was in the belt system (pulley, tensioner, alternator, etc.) Turned it off and felt all pulleys, none were hot. Crawled under truck, and the starter was burn-your-hand hot. Tried to start it again, and starter would not make any sound. The starter had been turning non-stop after the engine had started, trying to engage the flywheel, or being turned by the flywheel, either way it burned it up. Original starter and 175k miles.
A helpful guy that works for Sea Tow was working on some boats in the parking lot, and gave me some good advice about the starter solenoid/relay and showed me where it was, advising me to replace that part when replacing the starter (his Dad has a truck with same engine). He gave me a mobile mechanic number, so I called and left a voice mail (he did contact me 24 hours later). I told the marina guys about my truck breakdown, and they were "OK, stuff happens, thanks for letting us know" (no $20/day extra parking fee mentioned).
Then the guy from Sea Tow introduced me to his dad, who called another good contact and left a message for him. All of these people were willing to loan me tools, and help me if needed. His dad is the restaurant's "Papa" as in Papa's Seafood and Steaks. I am very grateful to everyone's advice and willingness to help me. I was able to get a starter and solenoid, install them with my limited mechanical ability, and am now driving the truck again. Can't wait for the restaurant to open! _________________ "In your guts you know he's nuts" |

that's Chad (Papa, also "Mimi's) and it's his son that works for SeaTow...good peeps for sure!!!
these people have fundraisers to buy underprivileged kids christmas presents, they do blood drives, support the teachers at the school, and who knows what else they do and don't tell anyone how they support their community....
make it a point to go in My Mimi's kitchen whenever you can, and when Papa's opens up, lets get a big group of folks to go up there and check it out...I"ll be there..

They were working on the restaurant all day today. I saw Jacob but he never implied that they were. So the answer is I don't know |
