Saturday I paddled nine miles at the Mayan Princess rigs offshore, and it was slow. Lost a cobia in a rig and released one Spanish. Oh well, I unloaded the gear and played in the surf a little to demonstrate how to safely navigate this most challenging section of any offshore trip. I even put myself sideways in a crashing wave to show that you can ride it out by leaning into the wave until it passes. If you have plans to paddle offshore, I encourage you to take some time to play in the surf zone with an empty kayak before loading it up with expensive gear and risking a rollover.

| Looks like you put in right in front of my house Glenn. Normally I'd be surf fishing on that stretch of beach but I was mowing the lawn when you were out there. Would have been nice to have met you! |
