I can't believe Tx. Parks and wildlife has not issued a fishing restriction yet? Question

TPWD is inherently a political organzation. Assessment of economic and business ramifications hit a snag when Ken Paxton was hunting in Canada, and Glen Hegar was with Ted Cruz in Cancun (again!). Greg Abbott punted to Dan Patrick, who thought fish had fur like "all of God's creatures", so they are re-assigning the National Guard from the Border to "save the fish", thus averting any fishing shut-down.

Funny, they did not wait two years ago to drop our trout limits, still to this day!

That's a pretty broad statement.
The Closure only applies to very specific areas, and while a number of them are in Nueces County, the Jetties, most of the Laguna as well as the Bay, and all of the surf areas remain open. "If you're brave enough to get out there"

The last closure on that page is a misnomer, as Tropic Isles as not been called Tropical Isles in any legal documents or references. Not a big deal, as we all know what they meant.

My favorite, as it has advertisements from 1956, as well as other historical references:

Saw Game Warden giving two kids with kayaks either tickets or warnings for fishing off the west end of Whitecap, there at the turn-around.

I saw on the news where they were reopening the closed spots to fishing but have yet to see a detailed report or even comments on a fish kill.

Thanks for posting the "closure maps" CS. It would be helpful if one could back off from what is shown to get a better ideal of the surroundings or location, especially on unfamiliar locations.

Joey Farah posted some info on a few floating trout up around the JFK causeway. Some nice ones in the mix. Doesn't look like a large scale kill, but it did get some for sure.
