I took the morning off on Friday, knowing that the winds would be strong all through Saturday. The fish were working but very quietly. With the morning high tide, signs were subtle. Still, I managed to locate seven reds or small groups and five of the targets came aboard the kayak. Four of the fish were under 24 and were released, but one measured just over that mark and rode home with me. The weather was great, and I got in 11.5 more miles of paddling, so exercise was good too. The usual Z-man Diezel minnow proved again that it is a great lure.
