I worked around the house all morning, and my FIL and son returned from their New Mexico elk hunt at lunch. We got things put away and he took a nap while I headed to the water for the afternoon. I paddled to an area I knew should have fish, but they were not to be found anywhere I looked. So I paddled three miles back and fished closer to the launch. All the schools I found were moving quickly and made the fly rod impossible, but the soft plastics worked fine. I did not catch very many, but the three I brought home were 28, 27.25 and 21 inches so no complaints here!
