While I was fishing and catching nothing, I saw a guy fishing Ransom and Dagger Flats in a small Porta-Boat. He came to the ramp while I was there. I asked him how he did and he said he caught eight keepers. I asked him what he was using and he said spoon flies. He showed me a black one, and it was about an inch long, and the spoon was about 3/16" inch thick. I'd never seen a spoon that thick. He said he tried a gold one, but the black worked better. It was pretty windy, but he made an 8 wt rig work. He's from Colorado, so maybe he knows what he's doing. FYI. TexasJim
