Came across this group of herons the other day near Newport Pass, and thought.... "Well, you guys are lost!!!! --- Yellow Crowned Night Herons, You're Drunk, Go Home"!!! Laughing

Quite a few of them roosted in oak trees across Whiteley channel from us a couple of years ago, but we have seen them since. It was always interesting to watch for their noisy exit from their roost each evening at dusk. Smile

happens every year around migration....some wind up at the beach...that's a pretty good group though....

I was SBH Sunday and three dropped in on the beach about 50 yards from me they walked around for a minute our so. Then pulled their necks down and stood still. I did not have any optics with me to get a good look. But, when a vehicle drove by they didn
