Seems that several violations in the terms of the1947 "gift" of 374 acres of land to Nueces County have triggered the family reps to ask for the land back. One violation was County Judge Barbara Canales deeding 15 acres as "mitigation" for developers of Lake Padre (wetland mitigation). Easement or fee simple, still a violation of terms of the gift of land to the County. Also, developers usually pay for mitigation lands or conservtion easements. Was there a payment, or just a "developments will pay taxes" deal?

I was going to vote in the political persuasion that shall not be mentioned Primary (for the very first time in my life!!!) just so I could vote against her! Found out she was unopposed.
Oh well, will keep my #BanCanalas sticker on my Jeep until November.  |
