I am needing annual service for my Yamaha.
Guess Gulf Coast Marine. Used them several times last several years. One buddy did not have much luck at Premier Yamaha, another swears Waypoint has great service techs.
Your thoughts ? |

| I 100% agree with Bernie's. There is not another Yamaha dealer in Texas who knows Yamahas, especially for saltwater use, better then Dennis, the owner. Dennis is the son of the original owner Bernie, and grew up learning outboards, including Yamahas, thus his mechanics are always well trained and do a great job at whatever the job is. |

I bought a used Yamaha outboard from one of their customers. The owner brought it to Bernie's in a pickup. They put it on a skiff, backed the trailer down into a water pit and test-ran it for about ten minutes. I bought it and they transferred the warranty to me. All at no cost to me. The seller bought a new, larger Yamaha, but I never saw a dealer do all that for any customer. They get my vote! TexasJim _________________ TexasJim

| It's a pleasure to deal with a dealer who knows more about your equipment then his mechanics and can answer any question about the engine, including what prop is appropriate for your rig, and will even put your rig in the water and test it to make sure! |

I'm here in Port Aransas.I'll second or third Bernie's in Victoria. Family owned and operated. Dennis the owner ( Bernie was his dad ) is the best. They even check the air in the tires of the trailer. It will be well worth the drive.I drop mine off first thing in the morning , Run all my errands. They have all the same stores in Victoria that Corpus has. The Victoria HEB also carries the Bolner's Fiesta spices for those who process their own game. Venison sausage, pan sausage and Carne Guisada. _________________ Life is Good |

| And I thought I was one of few who had been lucky enough to find Bernie's! BTW, they are one of the select Texas Yamaha dealers authorized to sell Yamaha engines for re-power, whereas many are just authorized to sell engines and boats, as pre-packaged units. However, many dealers not authorized to sell just engines can sometimes finagle a way to accomplish it without the buyer's knowledge. I have no ideal what the consequences, if any(warranty?), are to one buying an engine only from an un-authorized dealer. |
