Took a friend who was in from New Mexico out fishing. He saw me use my top water and dropper and just shook his head. After catching three reds, two keepers, and a handful of trout he was not shaking his head any longer. This 26" red had a really strange color to him.

Now that is interesting. Genetic mutation or maybe a red from a different enviroment?

That is a wild looking red. What kind of topwater is that?

I'm not sure it's one I found amongst my tackle. What I did was tie a dropper about 18 in off the front hook and added a purple paddle tail. That's what I caught everything on

Zia, not being nosey but could ya post a pic of it rigged with the dropper. I've used a buck tail before off the end never on first hook. Is the drop a weighted jig head or just hooked.
Thanks again.

It's a 1/8 Oz jig head with whatever color soft plastic you want to use. I tie it off onto the screw that holds the first hook. I posted pictures on the previous post but I don't have any on my phone anymore. I'll try to take another picture when I can and post it. Volleyball season starts in full force tomorrow and I'll be refereeing 7 days out of the next 9.

Yep working like normal and have that little bait swimming behind it. I've got two 21-in trout at the same time on it. Talk about a fight

How do you keep that from tangling and having to clean it up between casts?

It gets Tangled sometimes but not frequently. Just have to make a cast like if you were using a cork with a gulp underneath it
