Hit the sand south of BH and stopped around BM 238 yesterday at peak low tide to fish the incoming with wave height minimal and water clarity great. Was hoping for pomps or reds to be biting but no love. Zia must have caught mine in his morning visit!
First whiting beached at 1:20; was a hefty 15" released. Kept catching good sized whiting on pink shrimp Fishbites and kept none. Saw a nice trout cruising the wade gut but it wasn't interested in my silver spoon or soft plastic. Bite slacked around 4:30 so I left at 5 pm after a great day on the sand.
BTW, Sharkathon fishers freight training south for the tournament almost the entire time I was there. Many camps already set and ready for the starting horn. Hoping for good fishing for them!

Good on ya for a quality day on the sand. From what I've seen the past week or so, it whiting, whiting, and more whiting - with an occasional gafftop.

I think this is the first time in a VERY long time I can remember that Sharkathon wasn't greeted my Mother Nature with awful weather and some really bad driving conditions south.
