|
|
So Saturday morning having some success South of Pure Oil and here comes this guy in a Burner boat doing circles around me and running the flats. Bite stopped so headed South. Came back to same spot around 4 :00 he he comes again....
Sunday morning at 7:30 guess who shows up again ? Same dude just running circles around all spoil islands and the flats from Emmords South to Bird island then he comes back and repeats. Looks like a Hayne with a Mercury, but not sure.
There is a law of course about harassing any one hunting or legally fishing, and the dude is doing this by burning the flats looking for schooling Reds.
He he being payed a friend of mine suggested from some guides out of Bluff Landing ?? [ hint ] |

1-800-792-GAME is the number for Operation GameThief, which gets you to the closest game warden...put it in your phone now and use it...
I would have called the game warden the first time I saw him circle a spoil island, as that behavior is also harassing nesting birds....that's a whole 'nuther book they can throw at that zipper-head....

Yes i should have called game warden, which I did not see any this weekend. I know with Dove season happening and Bow season starting they are inland on ranches. I have the Operation Game Theft big sign on one of my ranch gates.
Zia lots of Black Drum from pups to 26 " on fresh dead shrimp. Few undersize reds. The perch or bad right now. Caught one of the biggest Rays i have ever caught in the bay system.
I think the best hook ups are on the edge of the ditch on the West side, but to much boat traffic on the weekends. |

that's precisely what greenhornet was saying....we were able to sight cast drum off our cabin pier on the east side of the ICWW most of the day yesterday except when someone would buzz the pier...
Zia, dad was down this weekend and we made more progress on the cabin...you'll have to drop by sometime...

I get burned pretty much every time I take the boat out. Just a fact of life if you're fishing up shallow. These a$$hats don't give too rips about the fish or birds as well as anyone else out trying to enjoy a day on the water. Think I'm wrong? Watch them anytime they come back to the ramp, only thing that matters is how many pounds of fish their googans can stab in the head for a photo op. Pretty sad really. _________________ It's not the destination, the journey is everything. |

Did y'all see the jacks crushing bait in the ICW, I got close twice but no hookups. A friend caught a 42" on Sunday. |

we did! there were some bruisers in there wreaking havoc on everything sunday morning! I've had enough of catching jacks, plus didn't have the gear...but yeah, they were moving through!

There is also the big issue with this burner dude tearing up the seagrass beds. With all the rain and the nutrients it created, Alot of turtle grass and other types are growing to the surface right now. This causes more floating grass for us fisherman, not to mentioned the scars he is leaving circling the spoil islands running tight on them.... |

turn him in...when good folks don't say something, bad behavior becomes accepted...

Okay, I'm not quite clear on this. It it one jerk going out with the intent to screw over somebody else's day in a specific area, or is it the usual "guide being a mulehat" problem?
I mostly fish in a kayak, so I don't think this stupidity is going to be an issue, but can you give me a location or area I need to avoid? |
