Looks like a given that no wake zone in front of Docs & Snoopys.

To many times tied up there and here comes a offshore rig plowing thru rolling my bay boat moored there. Also dudes flying thru there while others are idling around.

Game wardens will be enforcing [ hide your open beer ]

it was the first reading of the new ordinance at Council this past week....they will have a second reading at the next meeting, where I'm hoping our Game Wardens and the other partners will be in attendance...

yeah, it was supposed to happen 14 years ago....someone at the City flubbed it up....and yeah, that person is no longer there

Anyone know if the City has sent an application and documents to the Corps of Engineers. The USACE controls the wake zones in federal waters. We went through this when Packery Channel was dredged.

Might take a little more than the city just putting up a couple of signs.

I call that the intersection of death. Glad to see they're doing something about it.

definitely needed. It can be a bad mix of experienced and IMPATIENT boaters, newbies, jet skis, and offshore boats sometimes. A lot of boats entering the channel there that can really complicate things when boats are flying through there.

yes, they reported at the meeting last night that an application has been sent to both the USACE and Coast Guard for the permanent placement of buoys...

Let's see if I remember correctly, the original request was deined because the
tugs and barges must be under speed/power to make a safe pass under the bridge, especially in the wind.

They also had a couple of other reasons I just don't remember what they are
and I don't feel like looking up the paperwork.

Hopefully things changed. Good Luck

what I remember is that someone at the City got lazy and didn't follow through...

that has definitely changed, and it's finally back on track after 14 years...

One of the biggest issues have i have encountered this year are the squirrels renting jet skis out of 37. Coming way to close hauling supple bum when trying to pull in there or heading right at you heading North. I am going 45 plus they are going as fast or faster.

About three weeks ago I watched a lady drive a jet ski right into the 37 pier. Luckily she wasn't going fast but she just literally steered and drove right into it. That is about the least safe location I can think of for jet ski rental. Another issue I foresee is people will slow down to about half plane in that area once the signage is up and that's when they throw the biggest wake, it seems most people don't realize this.
