There's no place listed on the forum for general freshwater fishing so I had to put it here. Sorry!. After playing a couple hours of pickleball today I drove up to Hopewell Lake in Northern New Mexico. Temperature was 62. Went down to 34 last night. For some reason the rest of my post and pictures didn't come out. Here's a pic of my 16-in trout. Picture doesn't do it justice. Had multiple varied color spots and a salmon colored belly.

pretty transplanted eastern brookies.
I'd be keeping NM in my pocket for a July trip to escape humidity, but you're not missing much here now with all the rain run-off in the bays. |

Beautiful brookie right there.
Fished for an hour yesterday evening in the Backyard. Picked up a slot red on a topwater. |

Went back to the same lake again today and had a decent day. Caught two rainbows that were about 12 in long and then this one in the picture that went 17 and fat. High temperature was 68.

Thanx for the photos.
In Wyoming we are still waiting for spring snow melt to clear.
Do you think that is a stocker fish or a wild trout?
IMO the tail and fins say stocker. |

not that big brookie, thats a nice fish.
no shame posting on catching a nice pellet-feed rainbow, as long as you don't cook it up and rave about how good it was. |
