I seem to recall someone said it was a drum skull, not a trout. But this skull story is legendary and its a little hard to find facts.

McBride was referring to it awhile back on FB. There was also an article from TPWD that referenced after a freeze a 48" trout was found near baffin. 25#s? and another in the 20# category. But not many greater than 31" were found. I don't see how they would say it is a drum skull considering how much McBride knows his trout.
