This is not about fishing except to keep some old fishermen alive a little longer! My wife and I have gotten our first covid vaccine at Walgreens. Our vaccinations were not in CC and we are not meds or anything, but we were aggressive in calling to make an appointment. I encourage everyone interested in getting their vaccination to call Walgreens or other providers frequently until you get an appointment. We have to take another shot in 21-28 days, then we will only be immune about 15 days later. Good luck everyone, and make that call.
BTW, I should add, we live in Austin near Lakeway and had to go to Bastrop to get our vaccinations!
This link was instrumental in assisting us where we could possibly get a vaccination, maybe it can help someone else:https://tdem.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=3700a84845c5470cb0dc3ddace5c376b

Well that's a surprise, it appears we are neighbors. I haven't been looking, being a hermit means I automatically isolate anyway and was just going to wait till the ruckus died down. My mom (91) had hers this week at Spohn off of Staples.

This CCP Covid vaccine thing gets crazier all of the time! My wife has been trying diligently to reschedule us for a second vaccine, because the Walgreens in Bastrop where we got our first vaccination will not guarantee us a second one, even though we have to take the second one within a prescribed time period for either one to be effective. She just informed me she has scheduled me for a second vaccine in Houston on February 18th!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what happens when you cut in line. Who got denied in Bastrop? Who is going to get denied in Houston? Coming to steal a vaccine from someone in Corpus next?
Meanwhile, at your home:

Pretty heavy accusations there Rxfire. We are taking the first opportunities for the Covid vaccination given us, due to health concerns about the CCP Covid. Obviously, you have not tried to get a vaccination, but to answer your question, if the vaccine was offered to us in Corpus Christi we would take it! BTW, we have as much right to a vaccination in CC as you do, just in case you didn't know it! If you would like to discuss it personally then we can arrange that as well.

Rxfire, your ignorance of the matter is becoming more apparent, because you evidently are not in the qualifying 1A or 1B classification established to qualify potential recipients of the vaccine. We qualify as 1B recipients and can go where ever the vaccine is made available to us. For your and anyone else's information, one has to be extremely aggressive to find an opportunity anywhere to get the vaccine and to spend days on the computer to do so. It would be nice if there was a line to get in or stand in, so we would not have to compete for the opportunity to schedule a vaccine. One of these days everyone will get the vaccine, but in the meantime there will be addition deaths and hardships caused by this disease, especially in the population of those with existing health complications.

I had no problem whatsoever getting the vaccine and the second dose was scheduled when I got the first. All I have to do is show up at the scheduled date and time. _________________ Now that food has replaced my sex life I can't even get into my own pants!!!!!!!!

There are definitely some problems getting it here in corpus. Although they have mass vaccinations at the fair grounds friends of mine had to wait in line over 6 hours. they had to take pee jars or wear depends there because there's no facilities for them. Also everything is on a first come first serve basis and there's no sign up or pre-registration.

As of Tuesday, Jan. 12 [when I got my shot at the mass vaccination at Robstown], they had set up lots of porta potties at the vaccination center...in the parking lots and even along the roads where people were waiting in line. They seem to be learning as they go and working to solve problems as they pop up.

Obviously, the vaccine distribution is not organized the same way everywhere. Maybe we should all go to Kerville? However, rodandroll did not say how he is classified, but if he is 1A then all they have to do is show up when told to. The rest of us must register at a public health unit or department to be notified when the vaccine is available for us or give us an appointment, or in worst case, go stand in a line for over 6 hours with no toilet facilities! Now that is equity at it's best, or maybe that's at it's worst? |

I live up near Tyler's old hometown, called my local pharmacy, was scheduled 3 days later for 2:20. Got there at 2:15 and filled out some paperwork, got my shot on schedule, had to wait 15 minutes after, and was back home by 2:45. Very easy and no issues. I feel for everyone having issues with access. But my experience was all positive.

Thanks for this , thats what i intend to do, go to the local HEB pharmacy - when its available and get mine there. I cant imagine standing anywhere for 6 hours (other than PINS with 4 or 5 of my rigs out with live mullet) and waiting for a vaccine for something i could catch waiting in line. Its good to know that the way i want to do it, is likely here... soon. _________________ Don - permanent prescription of salt water therapy. |

Unfortunately Donnie, none of the HEBs have the vaccine. On the distribution map we have for our area it shows they do, but we have learned they do not have the vaccine at this time. It appears the County Judges in each Texas county has the distribution responsibility or authority.
