Anyone who has lived here a while have any insight into the conditions for PINS this weekend after Zeta? I was down on PINS for a week after Delta and for the most part it was hardheads, gafftops, and more hardheads. The surf height looks pretty good but I do not yet have enough experience with wind direction and such to even come close to attempting a "good ol college try" on predicting the water conditions.

I'm tempted to run out there right now - park service showed a picture of the surf with fog coming up off it, looked pretty cool. If the webcam was clean where i could see really well, that would be great. If i do i will report.

CC Bay looked like that this morning also. It was so cool looking!

I went down to about 8 miles down, more debris than i expected, definitely more stupid people than i expected. I cast netted some finger mullet, nada, i had shrimp - semi-fresh, stupid me, i didnt stop at my usual place, the Bait Bucket - where its always very fresh. Caught a few hard heads, a few small whiting. The high tide came in a little faster - the tourist types , werent many but they were parked across the driving area - as i got past those morons, i came up on the gent and his lady that have the camper and the pickup - tucked up into a washout, completely out of the way, very safe, very considerate. I see them - at least I think its the regular couple i see out there a lot. Anyway, after i got past the morons, i came up on 3 deep holes, dug right in the driving lane.

Back to the driving, the sand was soft, and getting softer - i stopped around 8. If i was partnered up with someone, i wouldnt worry about giving a shot , but i was solo. I have a feeling that getting down south is what we need to do. There were plenty of finger mullet in the surf, though it didnt do me any good. The last time i went down and had a not so good day, two others went down a little farther than me and limited on reds - same day, same time, so GO ! I would really try hard to leave at low tide also - i left at high and higher than usual - right after sundown - not good for me spotting those holes.
