Hey y'all, it's been quite a while since I was on! I'm planning a trip down there for next year, to take my uncle fishing. Would REALLY like to get him into some Ling. The TP&W says that June thru Sept are the best months, and I was hoping to get some current reports from anyone catching them lately, or just how that fishing has been this late spring and summer.
My plan is to fish either Port A or Packery Jetties, with the former being my first pick. Longer walk to the end, but less crowded, and I believe a better chance of getting into them. Thanks in advance! _________________ Dave

Thanks. And yes, I'm very familiar with jetty fishing and the possible obstacles. Still, I love fishing the end of the south jetty at Port A, and would like to try the north side too. As you say, the chances of getting into some bull reds are great out there, I _________________ Dave

| My experience is most lemonfish (ling) are best in early/late Spring, from mid-March to the end of April. After that, you can find them farther offshore, but finicky. Good luck, anyways on your trip down. |

They do show up in numbers in the fall, which is when I've had my best days catching them.
The Spring run is good if the weather cooperates, but this time of year is the best. _________________ I'd rather be fishing |
