I'm looking for your thoughts on coming down for three weeks starting on 17 August. Since you seem to have an insane county commissioner, My biggest worry is beach access and boat ramps. We usually rent a house in Flour Bluff or as close to to the intracoastal as we can get, but now that Packery channel is possibly unusable I'm really looking at alternatives. The wife likes the beach and I want to spend several days offshore.

Can I rely on access in Corpus, PortA/Conn Brown and PINS or should I start looking at Port Mansfield or South Padre?

My understanding is even under the various orders, the only restricting beach access is a vehicle. So if you can park somewhere and walk over the dunes, you can go to the beach all you want.

Doesn't help with all of the stuff you'd need to take with you to be comfortable (shade, cooler, etc.). But others may have more local knowledge. Heading to PA ourselves next week...

Beaches are open here in Port A but you can't drive on them until the 17th...so you may luck out on that one. Boat ramps are open.

Port Mansfield got hit pretty hard by Hannah so I'm not sure that's an option.

Not sure about SPI.

That is correct, and depending on whether the city and county want to to take on or "hush" this new lawsuit, no more extensions might be made restricting vehicles - might even get lifted early, perhaps. *hopes*
