hey guys, just wanting to see what everyone else is running around the Laguna. Here's mine. 2019 Ankona Shadowcast 16, great for 2 people to get up skinny and look for reds. I can run it in 30 mph winds if I feel like getting abused but it does just fine in 20 or less. Kayaks are welcome also, post em up!

congratulations, that's a fine boat - a Hewes Jr.
Super clean deck for fly fishing.
Here's my kayak wade-fishing fast taxi - not a great boat to fish from, because it's totally unstable - you use thigh straps for balance and turning - and totally fast - 5 kts easy.
It's also 39 lbs.
My flats fishing kayak is a Tarpon 160, fast, but nothing like the kevlar boat above. Also much more stable, but not a standing platform.
There are two 3-pc fly rods stashed in the bow hold, reels and fly boxes in a fanny pack, and a 3rd rod holder in the milk crate to paddle with one assembled.
It's one of those days, won't know whether to use it until we get to the right water. It's also winter, so a sunny afternoon would be the right use.

That first kayak is pretty neat looking, sounds like it can be fun to paddle around.
Those tarpon kayaks are really nice as well, 16' is pretty long. Very cool you can stash some rods in the bow too. _________________ It's not the destination, the journey is everything. |

here's my rigging to add a rigged fly rod out of the way
Yes, the kestrel is so much fun to paddle you must remind yourself to fish
At 39 lbs, the Kestrel is also a great boat to strap into a power boat, and mothership to the St. Jo Lakes or the east side of Green island.
This is my dad's McKee, and a cut to Allyn's Lake with Aransas Bay behind.

Its not exactly a boat but Ive been having fun with my Sea Eagle PF7K PackFish Inflatable Boat. I just find it convenient to use because its inflatable and its lightweight enough to carry it around. If anyone is looking to buy an inflatable boat, you should learn more here.

Right on man, do you ever worry about the inflatable and oyster shell? I've seen a few out and about on the water, they look like a good time! _________________ It's not the destination, the journey is everything. |
