Hey, my wife has been bugging me to get a golf cart for a neighborhood cruiser in our very small rural community. Of course I tell her that first we would have to sale the 99 TJ wrangler first, no room for anymore toys. My question is is about insurance on it. It will not have a lien on it. So, what are others doing with insurance for their golf carts that are driven on community streets?

I know nothing of this and my personal opinion is they're cheap enough to be replaceable and I've seen some ripped to shreds very easily, but low and behold at least Progressive offers it: https://www.progressive.com/lp/golf-cart/

I only say this because we had a 4WD ATV when I was growing up as a teenager that I would drive at 60+ MPH on our property (wearing a helmet). But was that thing insured? Hell no. Did I roll it a few times? Luckily, only once. But it was getting flat tires left and right because of all the mesquite thorns LOL. To us (and by us, I mean more my mom), it was a replaceable loss than it was to insure it.

Whatever you choose, I wish you the best of luck finding good coverage and an affordable premium.

bdbd0202, sounds as if you might have been in heaven in your teenage years. Having a ride like that would have been awesome. Really only reason that I am looking into insurance is it will be driven on a public roadway, although our roads over here are in horrendous condition. All stay healthy.......cC

Understood.

My friend and I also had some fun in a golf cart getting it to almost 30mph rolling downhill then slamming on the brakes before our asses fell out, leaving a screeching sound echoing off trees everywhere...but I digress..that was on a golf course Shocked Very Happy
